Lewis Court High School

School Dinners

All children, from Nursery upwards, are encouraged to have school dinners.  These are prepared and cooked on the premises daily and include a hot meal, plus salad bar, fresh bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, milk and water.

School dinners cost £2.56 per day for children in Nursery, Years 3, 4, 5 and 6, and are payable via ParentPay.  Payment should be made at least weekly in advance.

School dinners are free for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 as children in these year groups qualify for Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM).

We do understand that some children will prefer a packed lunch so children may bring in a packed lunch from home.

It is not possible to mix and match school dinners with packed lunches.  If your child has school dinners and wishes to switch to packed lunches, or vice versa, we require a minimum of two weeks’ notice please.

Free School meals

If you think your children could be eligible for the Free School Meals benefit package, we urge you to apply. Any family may be eligible for Free School Meals, even those whose children are in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and who therefore already benefit from Universal Infant Free School Meals. Go to: www.lewisham.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals and find out if you meet the eligibility criteria. You could potentially gain extra funding for your child in school which will not only pay for their school dinners, but also for school trips. Currently, families eligible for Free School Meals are also receiving £15 of food vouchers per child per week during the holidays.
